The Wiltshire Compact

Wiltshire Compact Logo

WIC provides representation for the sector at the Compact Board.  WIC is also currently looking at what nomination process needs to be in place for representation and facilitating this process through the Wiltshire Voluntary and Community Sector Assembly.

The Wiltshire Compact is a voluntary agreement between Wiltshire Council, other statutory partners (PCT, Police etc) and the voluntary and community sector (VCS). It sets out a framework for how we will work together for the benefit of Wiltshire’s communities.

Wiltshire Council, statutory partners and the VCS support the Compact because there are advantages that come from working together.

It contains a set of shared values and principles, and codes of good practice that cover the following areas:-

• Volunteering
• Funding and Procurement
• Consultation and Communication
• Equality and Diversity

The Wiltshire Compact is overseen by a board comprising representatives of the council, NHS Wiltshire, Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Fire and Rescue and the Voluntary and Community sector.

The Wiltshire Compact is currently undergoing a review and when complete a new revised Compact and Codes of Practice will be published.

Resilient Communities Partnership
Wiltshire Family of Partnerships Logo
The Resilient Communities Partnership (RCP) is one of eight thematic delivery partnerships which sit within Wiltshire’s ‘family of partnerships’ under the Wiltshire Assembly.

The family of partnerships forms Wiltshire’s Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) and as such it is where statutory agencies, voluntary organisations and the business sector come together to debate and articulate the ambitions and vision for Wiltshire. 'Building stronger and more resilient communities’ is the overall vision which is shared by the members of the Wiltshire Assembly. WIC provides representation and is committed to the work of the Partnership which includes a priority to support the creation of a thriving third sector within the heart of communities.
